Chemical Engineer
An opportunity has arisen to join a lithium chemical industry based in Basingstoke.

As the Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible to act as a specialist engineering resource to support daily activities and contribute ideas to company management to drivethe industry forward.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Use scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to solve problems
  • Improve the company's chemical and engineering process and design of new processes
  • Design, propose, implement, review and correct plans
  • Overseeing construction of new plants including all relevant hazard assessments and HAZOP's
  • Advise on testing programmes to obtain data, initiating and leading HAZOP's and maintain risk assessment records
  • Liaise with mechanical fitters, contractors, projects engineers and other engineers regarding technical matters such as processing techniques, design and safety
  • Conduct research, observe production processes, and discover ways to increase efficiency and quality
  • Implement, troubleshoot, and review plans as projects progress
  • Engage with suppliers and contractors regarding new and improved processes
  • Maintain and improve all plant operating documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a relevant engineering role
  • A Level grade B or above in Chemistry
  • Chemical Engineering degree with a minimum level of 2:
  • Has an understanding and experience of HAZOP's
  • Excellent understanding of Chemistry principles
  • Excellent computer skills, especially using spreadsheets, word processors and ability to use of CAD
  • Experience managing and leading a team in an industrial environment

Benefits:

  • Monday to Thursday 8:00am 17:00pm, and Friday 8:00am 16:00pm

  • Salary is £45,000 £50,000 per annum, depending on experience
