A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Contract Manager to join a charity who have a commercial arm.


As part of your role, you will take ownership of the placement and property contracts within the business ensuring that the terms are in line with the business expectations and that all contracts are properly authorised and managed.


Key Duties:

  • Ensuring all contracts entered into by the company are in line with company terms and conditions including but not limited to:
  • block, spot purchase, private individual agreements, Housing Management and other company leases.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with funders and landlords to mitigate against any risks to the business.
  • Providing a comprehensive summary of key contract terms to persons with delegated authority to sign contracts.
  • Management of company lets and office leases highlighting to the business when lease terms are due to expire.
  • Management of SLCs highlighting to the business when lease terms are due to expire and advising on any onerous clauses.
  • Working with the bids and tenders team to ensure the risk to the business in entering into framework agreements is highlighted and managed as part of the tendering decision making process.
  • Review of all contracts for acquisitions including highlighting areas where terms differ from company agreements or are a risk to ongoing agreements.
  • Management of all contract renovation ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance / development of the contracts management database for key terms to enable management to make decisions more quickly.
  • Ensuring any procurement contracts do not contain any onerous clauses.
  • Act as contact for insurance working with the Financial controller to manage queries on insurance.

About You:


  • Previous experience with public and private sectors
  • Previous commercial and contracts experience
  • Comfortable handling large workload under time constraints.
