Description

The role forms part of Citi EMEA Operations & Technology senior leadership team and is responsible for the management of the EMEA Operations & Technology governance framework supporting the effective management of the key EMEA O&T Transformation Programs, Legal Entity Governance Frameworks, the EMEA and specifically UK Operational Resilience Program implementation and providing an all rounded support to the EMEA O&T Head in setting, monitoring, and managing KPIs for departments and management staff, formulating strategic, operational, and budgetary plans and define a more optimal operating model across the geographical management of Operations & Technology to balance cost, risk and the client experience for better client outcomes.


The role has direct management responsibility over critical cross functional teams: Business office, Project governance and EMEA Operational Resilience and indirect responsibility for the embedded Business Unit Managers supporting the cost analysis for each functional line of business (LOB) across EMEA O&T.


Key components of the role are to:

  • Evolve and maintain a framework to support the Senior Manager to demonstrate that they are meeting their statutory duty of responsibility in relation to the UK Senior Managers and Certification Regime, both individually as well as in a delegated capacity in respective product, function and legal entities.
  • Enhance EMEA O&T management and governance framework to ensure robust management supervision and oversight, developing the legal entity and regional governance structure. Provide strategic and operational management support of the governance providing effective risk, resource, change and performance management.
  • Lead UK Operational Resilience ensuring delivery milestones and regulatory deliverables are met. Drive the critical business service dependency mapping, impact tolerance definition, severe but plausible scenario and recovery tests and facilitate the definition and agreement of remedial actions such that critical business services can remain within impact tolerance. Track and report remediation progress.
  • Directly managing and responsible for the execution of selected initiatives and programmes relating to the EMEA O&T management including EMEA Platform Modernization Program, UK Operational Resilience and other selected critical deliveries
  • Strategic planning for the EMEA O&T client, franchise, and people priorities collaborating with key partners across the organization
  • Provide complete oversight of the O&T materials provided to the specific governance forums, management committees and legal entity boards on O&T initiatives, human capital, technology and operations incidents, risks & controls and expenses, ensuring that they reflect the required strategic directions, progress and provide the right level of detail to inform appropriate board decision making
  • Work with O&T senior managers to provide transparency and oversee the risk across the regulated entities ensuing appropriate and timely escalation, lessons learned and remediation plans;
  • Support successful completion of reg and audit reviews across O&T in EMEA
  • Develop and execute the EMEA O&T communication strategy to optimize staff engagement and embed the strategic goals
  • Originate and drive the EMEA O&T culture and people agenda to support skills development, career progression, cultural values and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Validate the location strategy considering cost, resiliency of service and delivery against service level objectives
  • Oversight of performance against the scorecard at the EMEA O&T including identifying a path to green for red or amber metrics
  • Ensure transparent and accurate reporting of costs and oversight of cost targets whilst monitoring investment spend and realization of associated benefits
  • Produce and lead the monthly business review reporting and reviews for EMEA Operations & Technology
  • Understand drivers of growth and identify opportunities to manage this growth through building scale, delivering productivity gains and optimizing costs
  • Partner with our Product Heads to develop an understanding of the costs allocated from Ops, key drivers of costs and strategies to manage these costs and with the LOBs across Operations & Technology to understand investment spend and realization of associated benefits.
