Tezlom are currently recruiting for a full time Nursery Assistant based in Ealing


Purpose of Position:
1) To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the nursery aged 3 months to 5 years

2) To give support to other personnel/staff within the nursery

3) To implement the daily routines of individual children in your care

4) Respect the confidentiality of parents and other staff members by not passing on any information other than to the manager and the management team.

5) To ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all the children within your care


Responsible to:
The Nursery Manager, the Management Team and the Director.

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:1) To implement children's individual routines as closely as possible, ensuring that their daily needs are being met and that their journals reflect their ongoing development and interests.

2) To mentor trainee staff, imparting the pertinent job knowledge to each activity.


3) To ensure (as part of a team) that all play areas are consistently safe and secure and that all health and safety procedures are fully implemented.

4) To settle in new children, liaising with / supporting parents and carers by offering a flexible settling in procedure.

5) To be familiar with, and act according to the Nursery's safeguarding policies

6) Ensure that any allegations about a parent/visitor/staff member are instantly reported to the senior member of staff in charge

7) To ensure all of your planning is completed for your Key Children and that their journals are kept up to date with jottings, photos, art work, parent comments and termly assessment reports.

8) Work in partnership with the parents of all children to ensure the daily needs of the children are being met and information is shared. Report any shared concerns by parents/carers directly back to the senior member of staff in charge on the day.

9) To work alongside parents and other professionals to ensure any children with additional needs are fully supported and their needs are being met. Also to ensure that the special needs policy and equal opportunity policy is fully adhered to.

10) To carry out instructions given to you by senior members of staff in order to fulfil your duties within the Nursery. Report any concerns directly to your room supervisor.

11) To be responsible for the cleaning, tidying and monitoring of the toys and equipment throughout the day

12) To take responsibility for your own key children and inform parents and other staff of any relevant information, whilst ensuring confidentiality is met as defined in your handbooks.

13) Support all staff and engage in good teamwork

14) To ensure that all children are supervised at all times, this is particularly important during free flow indoors/outdoors.


15) To ensure (and instruct trainee staff) that children are always looking clean and tidy throughout the day and at the end of each session.

16) Ensure that all relationships with parents are strictly professional and always promote a positive attitude on behalf of the nursery.

17) To be responsible for the setting up of all meal times, adhere to the health and hygiene policies and ensure that the areas are cleaned up directly after each meal time (including snacks, breakfast, lunch and tea)

18) Ensure children's individual dietary requirements are met and all staff are informed that are involved with the child

19) To be responsible for toileting, changing, and potty training within the nursery according to the Nursery policies.
