Description

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinist.

You can expect a competitive salary and benefits package along with the opportunity to work a flexible 4 or 5 day 37 hour working week.

Duties will include:

You will be required to;

Plan machining by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting dimensions and tolerances.
Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Setup mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three

- and four-jaw chucks, vices, tools, attachments, collets, gears etc.

Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Verify settings by measuring positions, firstrun part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Keeping work area clean/tidy plus free from hazards.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

Essential Requirements
The successful person must;

Have experience in a similar role.
Have experience of reading engineering/technical drawings and making to specification.
Experience in editing/proving CNC programs.
Have excellent communications skills.
Be proficient in using a variety of measuring equipment.
Be comfortable working in a busy environment and be able to use your initiative and plan in advance.
Be flexible and adaptable to change.
Be selfmotivated with a good work ethic and attention to detail is essential.

What we offer you.

Two working patterns available

A)

Either a 4 day working week.

Hours of 07:
00 - 16:45 and Opportunity for overtime

B) 2 weeks day-shift, 2 weeks night-shift option, pay is significantly enhanced for this option.

£29,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
