Role Summary


The role of Pensions Project Team Manager is critical in supporting the business in delivery of ad hoc income projects and annual events.


This role is to ensure all projects allocated to the team are scoped, planned and assessed for costs, and then when agreement has been given to proceed, delivered as per scope and remit, within budget, the time allocated and to a high quality whilst regularlyreporting on the progress of the projects as the milestones are achieved.

The role includes providing support to the management, delivery and communication of analysis findings to all levels within the company including Exec Stakeholders, Internal Stakeholder& Third Party suppliers.

The Pensions Project Analyst Team Manager will also be expected to provide support to specific deliverables /initiatives to ensure traction and momentum where required.


Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Delivering projects in line with business objectives and predetermined critical success factors to time, cost and quality
  • Providing recommendations and manage implementation of agreed solutions
  • Identifying & implementing service and system improvements and efficiencies
  • Providing project support and coordination
  • Production and communication of Project status and analysis to enable progression of projects and initiatives
  • Reporting to Project team, Stakeholders and Senior Management regarding project status, results and recommendations
  • Collating and analysing data to produce and deliver solutions for administration teams within pre agreed timescales
  • Assessment and pulling together of documentation for complex technical pension and calculation tasks required as part of project deliverables
  • Collation of third party documentation required to complete the project deliverables
  • Working closely with other operations teams and operation managers to keep them up to date and to ensure what is being delivered is what is required

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in project management in a pensions environment
  • Detailed Pensions knowledge covering both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution with understanding of Pensions technical legislation, Pension calculations and scheme rules
  • Experience of working on projects or within the change management environment
  • The ability to assess and understand Business requirements, issues and drivers which impact the project and its delivery
  • Computer literate with a willingness to learn a variety of systems. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Problem solving skills to accurately diagnose the issue and work through potential solutions to ensure successful resolution Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Flexible approach and able to respond quickly and decisively in a changing and challenging environment. Ability to work to tight timelines and prioritise effectively to meet shifting deadlines without compromising the quality of output
  • A team player, portraying a positive cando approach to each task. Demonstrates personal commitment in all interactions to ensure the success of personal and team objectives.
  • The ability to develop positive and productive working relationships with a strong desire to deliver exceptional customer service
