The Role:
Advanced Innovative Engineering seeks an experienced Material Controller to join our dynamic team in Lichfield.
As a Material Controller, you will play a vital role in collaborating with suppliers to schedule order deliveries, expedite deliveries, manage material returns and replacements, and ensure efficient material handling and inventory management.
This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain within a close-knit team.
Responsibilities:
As the Material Controller, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Material Scheduling and Communication:_
- Efficiently utilize the ERP system to manage and communicate material scheduling activities.
- Receive and accurately book goods into the correct locations promptly.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure the timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality and costeffectiveness.
- Establish and maintain communication with suppliers to update them on the delivery schedule.
- Expedite material deliveries to support customer demand.
- Communicate planned material delivery status with team members in Operations and customers to ensure customer demand is met.
- Inventory and
Warehouse Management:

- Handle all aspects of receiving goods, stock handling, locating, and picking work orders.
- Actively participate in the ontime kitting of works orders.
- Proactively manage business inventory, including physical warehouse management.
- Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently.
- Material Return and Replacement:_
- Facilitate the return and replacement of rejected materials with suppliers, including preparing the material for return and organizing courier collections.
- Documentation and
Record Keeping:
_
- Process orders for shipping, ensuring accurate documentation following relevant legislation, customer, and carrier requirements.
- Assist in resolving invoice and delivery queries through communication with the Accounts department.
- Maintain meticulous record keeping.

Additional Duties:

- Demonstrate flexibility and perform additional or alternative duties to meet the company's requirements.
Experience and Qualification:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Essential to have experience working with a fully integrated ERP system.
- A higher level of education is preferred.

- Clear and succinct verbal and written communication abilities.
Hours and Environment
- Thirtyeight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (with a 30minute lunch break).
- Fridays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
- Standard 21 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
