About the QC Team


The QC department is responsible for ensuring that all the content we deliver to broadcasters, cinemas, home entertainment and VOD platforms looks and sounds flawless, exactly as the director intended.


Our team of highly trained experts use a combination of manual and automated QC processes to identify any issues that will impair the viewers enjoyment.

This will include a complete analysis of video, audio and metadata in controlled conditions using eye and ear along with specialist software to detect any issues.

If a fault is found, the QC department liaise with internal and external teams to fix the issue long before it hits the viewer's screen.


About the Role


Reporting directly to the Head of QC you'll be responsible for overseeing all QC operators on night shift and provide an escalation point for issues.

This role will command strategic thinking and planning whilst providing expertise throughout the entire QC process.

Working closely with key internal stakeholders, this role will contribute significantly to maintaining our operational efficiency to meet deadlines with a can-do approach.


Key responsibilities

  • Achieve quality targets set by the Clients, platforms, broadcaster and Visual Data.
  • Ensure work is delivered efficiently, on time and to a high standard.
  • Act as QC point of contact to global teams during shift.
  • Provide feedback and handover work updates to our global Scheduling team.
  • Work closely with the Head of QC to implement procedures to effectively plan all work going through the area, giving the business a clear overview of utilisation.
  • Represent and uphold all department policies and procedures and maintain an exceptional level of service within the Operational area.
  • Be point person for the QC department and address questions from clients and staff regarding technical specifications.
  • Communicate to the QC Department any specific needs of clients to ensure the work is completed to spec.
  • Act as liaison between Operators, Client Services and Scheduling.
  • Responsible for monitoring Mediapulse and client's dashboard to ensure work is assigned, deadlines are met and any capacity issues are identified and highlighted to Head of QC.
  • Resolve deadline related issues and collaborate with operational departments and client services, towards a timely resolution.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintaining of QC documentation.
  • Abide by security policies and protect information assets entrusted to you.
  • Operational work where required.

Person specifications

  • Previous supervisory experience in an operational role.
  • Understanding of QC and QAR processes used by global broadcasters and VOD platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of UHD, HDR and Atmos standards from a QC perspective.
  • Demonstrable experience in content QC for platforms and studios like Netflix, Amazon, Disney and BBC.
  • Passionate about customer experience and customer service excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to prioritize your workload, and the capability to collaborate with and assist other team members.
  • Problem solver with a creative and innovative approach with the ability to think outside the box.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to plan complex projects with urgency.
  • A positive attitude when experiencing obstacles and enthusiasm to get things done.
