The Role:
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) and will regularly work unsupervised but with the wider theatre team who will be available for reference at all times.
The post holder will be required to perform physical / technical / emotional aspects of patient care in an efficient, effective and responsible manner with accuracy in a busy environment.

What we'll need you to bring:
- SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
Or
- Postholders with no previous clinical healthcare experience will be treated in accordance with Annex U Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees 70% of the maximum of the salary scale.
- Initial induction period of up to 3 months, followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency across a range of specialties within 12 months following induction.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.

Location and Working Pattern:
- This role will be based in the Theatre Department within University Hospital Monklands.
- The working pattern for this role is Monday
- Sunday and is fully rotational.
