The role
The Continuous Improvement position directs a wide variety of high level improvement activities to develop and improve standards for industrial processes, materials and office based functions to assure all customer requirements are met in a cost efficient manner by performing the following duties:
Key Responsibilities

As a Continuous Improvement Lead you will be responsible for identifying and working with the management team and production team to deliver improvement opportunities.

You will be proficient in mapping processes in a production environment. You will drive improvements that deliver efficiency and cost saving targets to budget and be delivered or exceeded.
You will also be accountable for embedding new practices in a production setting, alongside an ongoing culture of improvement.
Other responsibilities as Continuous Improvement Lead will include

  • Analysing production processes and procedures against the assigned projects.
  • Developing enhancement strategies and identify shortfalls.
  • Monitoring employee performance vs process and organisational processes.
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders, and in particular the production CI lead, to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicating the need for process change and supporting the change process
  • Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in new processes.
  • Staying uptodate with developments in manufacturing process optimisation
Tasks

  • Delivery of improvement projects to achieve production targets/ cost savings and KPIs.
  • The elimination of waste, in pursuit of tangible customer value.
  • Identification, planning and implementation of initiatives that improve efficiency and utilisation.
  • Support the product industrialisation and designformanufacture.
  • To drive standardisation of approach, aligned with the wider business, supporting an environment that encourages the sharing of best practice.
Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of LEAN and process improvement tools and techniques (Experience with Value Stream Management tools, Kaizen methods and other key Lean tools and methodologies is advantageous).
  • A track record of implementing process improvements and controls.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/ production environment (as a continuous improvement lead).
  • Experience of modern manufacturing practices, processes and organisational design.
  • Experience in delivering multiple efficiency.
  • Travel to other sites may be required on an ad hoc basis but will be fully supported by the company.
Education

  • Hold a relevant degree in Manufacturing, Engineering (or equivalent), or experience to an equivalent depth.
