HGV Mechanic - Doncaster - c.£18p/hr plus o/T c.£42k+

This is a hands-on job, reacting quickly to driver reported issues with HGVs as well actioning preventative maintenance

Other duties of the HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer/ Technician include:
Plan and carry out preventative maintenance and regular servicing of 18T-32T skip lorries

React quickly and efficiently to vehicle faults/defects/downtime

Repairing/replacing parts as and when necessary, in line with company and legislative requirements

Clean, prepare and inspect vehicles prior to MOT

Road test vehicles after maintenance and Mot work has been completed

Help Maintain Drivers Daily Walk Round Checks System

Maintain An Effective Relationship with External Component and Maintenance Suppliers

As the HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer/ Technician, you will have:
Experience in fixing/replacing items such as; Bearings, Pneumatic/Hydraulic Components, Springs, Brakes and Pads (essential)

C&G/NVQ L3 Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent (essential)

5 years+ experience in working on HGV's (essential)

Experience With Forklift/Plant Maintenance & Servicing (preferred)

Knowledge of IVECO/FORD HGV engines/trucks (preferred)

HGV Driving License (Advantageous)

Knowledge of Cablelift / Multilift Equipment (Advantageous)

Workshop Supervisor Experience (Advantageous)

Fabrication/Welding Experience/Qualification (Advantageous)

H&S Experience / Qualification (Advantageous)

Knowledge Of Auto Electrics (Advantageous)

Hours: 7am - 4pm Mon-Fri (flexible finish times) with Saturday mornings sometimes being required to undertake work not possible during normal operations

Salary:
c.£18p/hr c.£37.5k DOE plus overtime if worked on Saturdays takes salary over £42k p/a

Holidays: 22 days plus bank holidays

Pension:
Workplace pension, currently the standard 3%/5% split
