A vacancy has arisen for a Peer Recovery Worker within NHS South Ayrshire Treatment and Recovery Team (START) Services.
You should have your own personal living or lived experience of alcohol and drugs or have experience of supporting a family member/friend with addiction problems.
You will act as a role model for stakeholders and service users through personal lived experience of drug and alcohol issues directly or from supporting someone who has been affected by substance use.
Having a positive attitude towards enhancing the service users' individual recovery.and a willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge base and promote continuing professional development is encouraged.
Experience of working in a related community setting is desirable.
This is an exciting and progressive development for an individual wishing to progress in the field who has unique qualities and experience that will enhance and inform the range of supports available to people attending NHS Alcohol and Drug Services.
A car driver is desirable, as you will be required to work across South Ayrshire locality area, however those working towards this will also be considered.
