We are seeking to appoint
two experienced, motivated, pro-active, and enthusiastic Research Fellows to join the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Policy Research Unit Policy Innovation and Evaluation (PIRU).

PIRU aims to improve policymaking by evaluating new policies in public health, health services and social care in their early stages.


The available posts represent an opportunity to join a team of experts in evaluation with experience of conducting research to advise Government and its agencies using a broad range of evaluation methods on diverse policy areas across health services, social care and public health.


The postholders will have some experience of multi-disciplinary, mixed method policy and/or programme evaluative research, along with experience of synthesising evidence from routine data and/or peer reviewed research and/or policy documents.

They will have a good knowledge of important aspects of current UK or English public health, health and social care policy and practice.


Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant field (social policy, health policy, health economics, or closely related discipline).

They must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively and must provide evidence of experience of academic writing, and a commitment to advancing research of the highest quality to contribute to the academic standing and sustainability of LSHTM.
