We are working in partnership with Reading Almshouse Charity to find their next
Housing Manager for their Almshouse flats in Reading.

The purpose of the Charity is to provide housing accommodation for persons of good character, in need, who have resided within 20 miles of Reading town centre for at least three years.

ReadingAlmshouse Charity is more than a housing provider and seeks to build communities where residents can live happily together for their mutual benefit.

The
Housing Manager will need to be a positive, sincere, empathetic, and approachable individual. Facilities management is also critical and, therefore, someone with appropriate experience is highly desirable. The role is wide ranging; fromensuring the properties remain well maintained to organising social events for the residents.

This is a significant and rewarding role that will require the post holder to demonstrate the following:

  • Property management and maintenance oversight
  • Proven experience in a customer service type environment
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Takes ownership of problems and solves them
  • The ability to manage a varied workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
You will be a proactive and positive individual with a light touch yet excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

You will have high attention to detail and not be afraid to take ownership of issues and work to a resolution.

Due to the varied natureof the role, you will have a flexible approach with the ability to prioritise and plan ahead ensuring that the welfare and wellbeing of the residents is at the forefront of all your work.

Salary:
£25,000 to £30,000 FTE (depending on experience)
