About Us


We're a non profit organisation that wants to bring students as close as possible to the real excitement that our heroes face in real life.


We go to schools and show off the world of STEM, from building cars, understanding different densities, making fireworks, looking at bees or even creating ice cream.


Job description
We're looking for someone to work with us at our Aveea Academy Sessions. These are workshops that run after school (3:00pm - 4:30pm) at local primary schools.


We have a class of 20-30 eager children that we inspire on a weekly basis, taking them on a journey in understanding a STEM concept.

You'll get to work with KS1 and KS2 children of varying educational needs.

It's a perfect opportunity for anyone who loves making a difference.


Responsibilities

  • Helping leaders with STEM sessions
  • Setting up material and equipment
  • Understanding the Health and Safety of the experiments in a school setting.
  • Help maintain a positive learning environment where pupils can feel confident and learn freely.
  • Helping pupils with experiments not afraid to get involved hands on

Requirements:


  • Students welcome (A-Level and University).
  • Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
  • Experience working with children (formal experience not required).
  • An understanding on STEM concepts and an eagerness to learn.
  • A DBS certificate is mandatory, must be eligible to work in schools

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 2-4 per week


Salary:
£12.00-£15.00 per hour
