A permanent opportunity as an Office Assistant for a not-for-profit company providing technical services responding to marine pollution.


Office Assistant Responsibilities:


  • Answering calls promptly including fielding queries, forwarding calls and taking messages
  • Greeting visitors and notifying the relevant staff of their arrival
  • Monitoring scheduled meetings, ensuring the rooms are booked and arranged accordingly
  • Maintaining responsibility for the office's mail, including collection, arranging couriers and running errands to the post office where necessary
  • Ensuring office spaces are tidy and well maintained
  • Organising internal social events such as lunches and informal celebrations, including liaising with suppliers and venues and drafting and circulating communications with the team
  • Populating the company database, ensuring key contacts are entered
  • Taking minutes at companywide meetings and circulating them to staff
  • Undertaking ad hoc research, office errands and administration work

Office Assistant Essentials:


  • Minimum of 12 months of office experience
  • An excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Highly organised with a proactive working style
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and being able to pick on internal systems quickly
  • Team player and the ability to offer support outside of main responsibilities
  • Problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Must be comfortable working 5 days in an office
