Role:
Data Engineer

Salary:
Up to £75,000 + package DOE

Location:
Bristol (Hybrid)

Our Client a FTSE 100 company that works across public and private sectors requires a
Data Engineer to start immediately with their organisation working on defence projects.

They are a world leader in cyber security delivering mission-focused solutions for digital transformation, and with a forever-growing business, there ishuge potential to grow and further your career.

Due to the nature of work the successful Data Engineer for this role will be required to go through Government SC clearance prior to starting.

Data Engineer overview:

Model data requirements, data sources and data flows to bring order and structure to programmes of work
Defining how and where data is created, mastered and destroyed to ensure proper control over the lifecycle of corporate data assets
Define metadata to provide searchability and governance

Data Engineer requirements:

Ability to write clean, maintainable, and robust code.
Experience with software engineering best practices and good development hygiene.
Experience with big data technologies.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Team player, able to work well with colleagues of all backgrounds and seniorities, including client colleagues, other consultants, and partnering organisations.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to a broad array of stakeholders of varying technical understanding and seniority, with appropriate tailoring.

Data Engineer traits:

Solid understanding of programming languages
Experience in using data engineering tools and technology
Good understanding of Open Source software
Ability to analyse customer problems, evaluate options and recommend solutions
Previous experience working in the cyber security space is advantageous but not essential
