Health Care Assistant hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Band 2 Healthcare Assistant to work within the Copeland Unit based at the West Cumberland Hospital.
Copeland ward aims address the challenges of an aging population and increasing demand on health and care services by providing more patient centred hospital care and empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing.
This will require new ways of working to focus on preventing ill health and ensure services are sustainable for the future.
This role requires you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to support the provision of high quality care, to support patients with complex needs within the community ward setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their clinical skills and expertise in caring for patients, working closely with health and social care colleagues to promote independence, facilitate hospital discharge which can be complex and promote independence through reablement and management of long-term conditions.
There is also opportunity to work and gain experience working on the Loweswater Suite, which is a specialised 4 bed Palliative care unit integrated within the Copeland Unit.
The shifts are predominantly 12hrs with half hour break included however the Rota is completed based on service need and this may change to support this.
As a Health Care Assistant in a multi-disciplinary team, work with other health and social care professionals to develop the ethos of multi-disciplinary, integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.
As a Health Care Assistant, working under the direction of a registered health care professional, undertake a range of delegated patient nursing and care duties including clinical observations and recording patient information.
Working on many occasions unsupervised, assess patients, plan and implement care in the hospital setting, provide advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues, maintain associated records.
Flexible working is required to meet the needs of the patients group.
