An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic and friendly team at Pivotal Edinburgh to facilitate the continual growth and expansion of the business.

Rate of Pay


With an annual salary of £30,000, you will be contracted to work a minimum of 40 hours per week (5 x 8 hour shifts) to be worked over a working week Monday to Sunday which will include working some public/bank holidays as may be necessary.

You will be paid monthly by credit transfer to your nominated bank account.


Pension Scheme
After 3 month service with the company you will be automatically enrolled in the company pension (NEST), if eligible.


Holiday Entitlement
You will be entitled
20 days holiday plus
8 statutory days per year.

Working within a fast paced department you will form part of the management team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Branch Operations Department, incorporating the Secure Area. You will utilise various company equipment and coin-counting machinery within the department, ensuring the efficient running of the department.

You will be responsible for assisting in the processing of containers, into and out of the department daily. You will need to ensure employee rostering is complete and updated weekly along with TMS system.

You will input and collate reports and assist in managing full audit trails in the department on a regular basis.

A full induction Training Programme will be provided by Pivotal. Followed by On-the-job training. You will be assessed during the training period. You will be paid for your training period.


Additional tasks include:

  • Route planning and route optimization throughout UK
  • Briefing and debriefing drivers
  • Liaising and communication with various parties to ensure service levels are upheld
  • Completing all relevant documentation
  • The efficient planning of vehicles
  • Ensuring resources are utilised as efficiently as possible
  • Providing customers with on time deliveries / collections to ensure strict time windows are met.
  • Ensure ad hock & seasonal collection schedules are updated in line with client's requests.
  • Providing solutions to any problems
  • Activity based planning based on customer demand
  • Planning of fleet downtime to uphold fleet service schedules
  • Working with suppliers to ensure business costs our controlled
  • Driving Transport efficiencies and fuel KPIs
  • Demonstrate legal and compliance Knowledge surrounding Operator's license
  • Managing the dispatch of approximately 40 drivers
  • Activity based management of drivers to ensure company provides a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to identify areas for cost control and saving within the business.
  • Control Daily telematics system, in house fuel monitoring systems.
  • Line management of drivers including review of performance, recruitment, selection and supported intervention in formal HR process

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of high degree of attention to detail
  • Experience in Microsoft packages
  • Proficient in Health & Safety management / processes
  • Proven ability to communicate well and effectively lead a team
  • Ability to work under time pressures and on own initiative.
  • Full 5 year checkable employment/academic history
  • Team motivation, target setting and monitoring progress reviews
  • Routing and fleet management experience

  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks with mínimal supervision
