Teaching Assistant - Leeds, United Kingdom - Accelerate Teachers
Description
Responsibilities:
- Support the pupil with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
- Assist with communication and language development
- Help the pupil to participate in educational activities and access the curriculum
- Work closely with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support the pupil's needs
- Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the pupil to learn and develop
- Help to maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and share information with relevant staff and parents
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children with PMLD or similar needs
- Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with PMLD
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and flexible approach to working with children with complex needs
- A relevant qualification in teaching assistant, special education or similar field
