Hours:40 hours per week, rotating shift pattern of day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays

What will you be doing?


As a Shift Plant Operator, you will report to the Shift Team Leader to ensure a safe and efficient operation of all activities on site including a waste-fried high-pressure boiler and generator.


  • Assist the Shift Team Leader with the operation of the plant from a Central Control Room.
  • Operate plant and equipment as required, including mobile plant and refuse crane.
  • Ensure day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit.
  • Carry out routine plant inspections.
  • Monitor stocks and take receipt of consumables and collections.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working in a continuous process environment.
  • Be available for shift pattern work.
  • An interest in mechanical and electrical plant with some experience of plant operations.
  • Previous engineering experience would be an advantage.
