Description

A leading law firm are looking for a fraud legal assistant to join their team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Individual with existing fraud experience wanting to develop their legal career and work for an established company.

As legal assistant to the counter fraud team, you will be responsible for handling the motor and casualty portal and OIC caseload, assisting senior Fee Earners with small claims track, fast-track and multi-task caseload within the counter fraud team fora wide range of clients.

Salary :
£22,000-£25,000

The role:

Identify fraud type
Undertake investigations including gathering evidence and taking witness statements
Assisting with preparing legal documents and providing legal advice
Analysis of expert report, including medical and engineering reports
Providing written reports to clients
Liaising with counsel and chambers
Advise on potential recovery and enforcement in appropriate cases
Upon fraud being ruled out, to pursue the settlement of case and costs
Timely maintenance of all case management
Comply with SRA accounts rules
Assist with managing litigated files in accordance with client protocols
Comply with relevant legislation
Provide advice to insurers, their insureds and corporate clients
Manage a caseload of claims

What we are looking for:

Previous counter fraud experience preferable. Understanding of fundamental dishonesty provisions and case law beneficial
Experience of handling personal injury claims, and credit hire preferable
An understanding of prelitigation and portal claims
An organised individual who takes a proactive resultsoriented approach
