The key purpose of a Senior Finance Business Partner is to aid Serco business leaders to deliver profitable and sustainable growth for complex services.

The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing dedicated, commercial, and financial decision support aligned to strategic and customer priorities & and improve shareholder value.

This role will have financial responsibility for a business with revenue of circa £100m for the existing Serco Transport business covering rail, ferry, consultancy, and training services within Serco UK&E.


Supporting the Serco Transport business will require a highly commercial, holistic view of our contracts and work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to understand how we standardise processes, find and deliver cost savings and efficiencies, whilst ensuring we constantly deliver for our customers.

What you'll need to do the job

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) and have worked in a similar Senior Financial Business Partner position within an Outsourcing business
  • You'll need to have experience of supporting a complex business unit with a variety of service lines and competing business challenges
  • You will need to interact with internal and external stakeholders so effective communication and influencing skills will be key.
  • This role has a heavy emphasis on leadership, both to direct team and wider business. It is expected that you will be able to demonstrate your leadership style.
  • Periodic travel to contract sites Aberdeen, Derby, Liverpool, Stockholm required.
