**Job Brief/ Job Overview

  • Service Engineer**As a Service Engineer at Ormazabal UK, your primary role will be to ensure the safe execution of all servicerelated projects. Typically, your tasks will include servicing, upgrades, and life extension of switchgear and ancillary equipment.


Service Engineer responsibilities can vary in nature, and services will be delivered to various customer sites across the UK, overseas, offshore, and marine-based.

As this is a customer facing role, you will be the face and visible representative of Ormazabal UK.

It is expected that you therefore maintain a professional manner and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the continuous improvement of the standards of customer care while representing Ormazabal UK to customers in the UK and overseas.

**Job specification

  • Senior Service Engineer**We are proactively recruiting for this role.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead installation and commissioning activities within assigned projects
  • Dealing with enquiries from existing customers, concerning technical support, advice, and future service offerings
  • Undertaking premobilisation duties e.g., project specific risk assessments, method statements etc.
  • Participating in, and promoting, a proactive approach to Health and Safety at Ormazabal UK customer premises
  • Safely performing all necessary servicerelated tasks at Ormazabal UK and customer sites e.g., switchgear service and maintenance, switchgear upgrades and life extension projects, protection relay testing and upgrades, switchgear breakdown investigation and repairs etc.
  • Undertaking safety, competence and task related training as identified by the company
  • Ensuring all reports and expenses are submitted in a timely manner

All necessary training and equipment will be provided


During transitional periods between site work, or high production demand you will be seconded to production at our company site in
St.

Helens.

Requirements:


  • Must be comfortable working away from home Monday-Friday
  • Must be comfortable with potential offshore work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on your own or as part of a team
  • Proactive and ability to make decisions quickly
  • Resultsorientated
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft suite programs
  • Must hold a valid UK Driving License

Desirable:

  • Background in electrical switchgear
  • Electrical testing experience
  • Experience with mechanical installation
  • Strong understanding of current and future customer needs
  • Familiar with producing Technical Reports
  • Experience in the fundamentals of electrical switchgear, its operation, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Experience of offshore/marine working

Education/Qualifications

  • Relevant electrical qualification e.g., level 3 qualified in a relevant field
  • BTec or City and Guilds electrical qualification or recognised apprenticeship/training body
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Working hours:


  • Monday-Thursday: 8am5pm
  • Friday: 8am1pm (Early finish Friday)
  • Flexible
