We have a fantastic opportunity for a
Site Agent
to join our talented Highways Team
on the A57 project in Hyde - Manchester.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver a successful project.

    This role will see you providing management, leadership and control of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers & Foremen.

Who we're looking for

  • Degree qualified, Civil Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge and management of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Structures, Roadworks
  • Working knowledge of programme Management
  • Experience in managing budgets for packages of works.
  • Excellent role model for development of team members and demonstrates required behaviours to align to project and team objectives.
  • Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems and capable of stopping operations when necessary
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity & experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded
  • Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights as required by the programme.
  • Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card / SMSTS qualified
  • Valid UK Driving licence and Right to Work in the UK (Essential)

What you'll be doing

  • Motivate section team and manage performance, monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate.
  • Sets targets and KPI's in line with Project / Business objectives and monitors performance.
  • Manages subcontractor performance based on KPI's.
  • Carry out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S Plan.
  • Assist in Incident Investigation and information gathering / review.
  • Appraise improvement options and actions / instigate as appropriate.
  • Lead periodic risk reviews and takes output forward to the Project Risk Register.
  • Monitor effectiveness of the H & S Management System.
  • Ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to the Works Section and that each has an appropriate level of ability.
  • Ensure site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings.
  • Implement systems and processes to manage the quality of the constructive works.
  • Ensure production of operational target programmes to reflect overall construction programme.
  • Chair prescribed Short Interval Control section meetings to review performance on site.
  • Attend and provide reports for weekly project meetings and identifying improvement areas and allocates.
