Due to continued growth we would like to grow the quality team through the appointment of a Quality Assurance Officer covering both qualifications and End Point Assessment.
The role is predominantly home based but you will be required to travel to our York office a couple of times a month.

The role will be the quality lead on a portfolio of apprenticeship standards, undertaking quality monitoring and checking completion of all End Point Assessments undertaken by Independent Assessors.
You will contribute to the annual programme of Standardisation activities both online and face to face to ensure we deliver compliant End Point Assessment requirements in line with Ofqual's regulatory framework.
The role will support the Director of Quality and Regulation in all activities relating to qualifications including centre approvals, monitoring, liaising with the external EQA team and maintaining the centre management and governance modules within the online system.
Support with the training of external standards quality moderators (SQMs), IAs, and EQAs for qualification centre management.
Support the Director of Quality and Regulation with all External Quality Assurance (EQA) activity for qualifications, and with supporting the EQA team.
Main responsibilities
- Check compliance for standards that are allocated as lead, all End Point Assessments carried out to ensure Independent Assessors have completed the process correctly and within correct timescales. Complete standard moderation process for all apprenticeship standards for compliance, consistency of results and timeliness and referral to Director of Quality & Regulation for problems and issues
- Auditing documentation completed by Independent Assessors and Standards Quality Moderators (SQM) to ensure it is compliant to all required regulations and meets the stipulations of the respective Assessment Plan within the correct timescales
- Liaise with members of the quality team to investigate and resolve queries, and carry out agreed sampling based on risk for both EPA assessors, and qualifications and centre risk ratings.
- Manage the EQA annual plan for centre management under the guidance of the Director of Quality and Regulation
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to complete a review of the Independent Assessor risk ratings on a quarterly basis in consultation with SQMS and the Head of End Point Assessment, and report to the Director of Quality & Regulation.
- Assisting the Director of Quality and Regulation to ensure all our policies and procedures are compliant and up to date, completing the policy update tracker.
- Ensuring corrective actions are followed up and implemented effectively, and making recommendations for improvements where necessary
- Conducting investigations
- Responding to customer complaints
- Participating in the internal audit programme
- Supporting and participating in external quality assurance audits on Standards
- Liaise with other teams such as product development, EPA Operations, and the Customer Service team to research and respond to queries, and provide input to assessor management, and support with EQA management of the external team of selfemployed contractors.
- Contribute to the quality processes and procedures in managing the EQA team covering the qualifications business and supporting 50+ approved OAL centres.
- Supporting the Quality Team with planning and delivering all standardisation and quality assurance training days/events for both EPA and awarding.
- Support team members with the development of the Creatio systems for qualifications and End-Point Assessment.
Essential Qualifications
Level 4 quality assurance qualification. (e.g. D34, V1, TAQA, CAVA)
Certificate in Education or level 4 training and development qualification or similar
Provide an up to date DBS
Essential Experience
Experienced in Apprenticeship and End Point Assessment
At least 5 years' experience of working in training delivery, provision, assessment and/or quality assurance.
Held an IQA role or similar for at least 2 years
Significant experience of operating in a compliant and/or regulated environment
Understanding and experience in managing external contractors to deliver a high quality service
High level experience of IT platforms to monitor and control training delivery, provision and quality assurance
