Applications are welcome for the post of Consultant in Acute Medicine based at St Richard's Hospital in Chichester, one of four acute medical units within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an energetic, innovative colleague to help develop the Acute Medicine service.

This role is based on the Emergency Floor which is 55 bedded acute unit.

Our unit is a dynamic unit, staffed by Acute Medical Consultants, alongside a full compliment of trainees, nursing staff and allied health professionals.


The unit is at an exciting time, with a current corporate trust project invested in SDEC optimisation, and a team who are passionate about clinical education.


Successful applicants will be encouraged to develop a specialist interest such as education, simulation, SDEC or point of care ultrasound.


The department is currently in the development stage of moving to an annualised rota pattern for consultants, which will facilitate time for specialist interest work alongside maintaining a sustainable work - life balance.
