The post holder will work in partnership with Health Education England (HEE) and relevant Approved Education Institutions (AEIs) to develop, coordinate and support a high quality learning experience in both acute and community settings, particularly in relation to the roles of Practice Assessor and Supervisors.
To work in collaboration with clinical staff to ensure that the clinical education, and development needs of learners within the nursing profession are identified and addressed using approved, proven and credible methods.
The post holder is responsible for supporting students on placement, ensuring the provision of practice opportunities for pre-registration nursing students and nursing associate trainees within the Trust
To monitor the training and preparation of Practice Assessors, Practice Supervisors and develop and deliver programmes of education and regular updates with colleagues in the Nurse Education team to ensure that nurse mentors/ supervisors have current and evidence based information about NMC approved pre-registration programmes and clinical placement requirements.
Ensure that practice areas are adequately prepared, supported and resourced to manage the students / trainees / learners allocated to them.
Promote and implement initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing the quality of students' practice experiences. Provide support to Practice Assessors and supervisors; and maintain a database of practice Assessors and Supervisors within the Trust
