Cross Resourcing are thrilled to be supporting our client, a leading Scottish Law Firm, to recruit a Data Protection Officer to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

Our client is one of Scotland's leading full service Law Firms with offices across Scotland.

Their Data Protection Team provides compliance and data protection advice to clients, which includes their outsourced data protection services. They work with clients across a number of sectors including technology, healthcare, retail, education, charity and professional services.

Data Protection Manager


Location
Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dundee


Salary
Dependant on experience


Role Purpose

You will support the growth of the outsourced DPO services offered to clients, working closely with clients supporting their data protection needs.


Role Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on data protection gap analysis
  • Create and implement data protection compliance plans
  • Advise clients on UK and International data sharing and processing rules and regulations
  • Carry out impact assessments, managing risk for new activities
  • Manage all data protection related notices, registers and policies to include drafting
  • Deliver training to client when required
  • Carry out legal research on complex data protection issues
  • Remain fully informed regarding European and International GDPR rules and regulations

Key Skills

Prior experience as a Data Protection or Privacy Officer:

Experience supporting a DPO:


  • Proven experience developing and implementing privacy policies
  • Strong experience providing risk based analysis
  • Knowledge of European and International data protection laws and regulations
  • Experience carrying out Data Protection Impact assessments
  • Strong experience carrying out gap analysis and data mapping
  • Knowledge and experience drafting policy notices
  • A strong planner, highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong stakeholder management skills both internal and external
  • Highly motivated, willing to go above and beyond
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Confidential and discreet

This is a full-time, permanent role working between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.


Please note, our client is flexible on location, this role can be based in either Edinburgh, Glasgow or Dundee and offers Hybrid working.
