Description:

Our client has an opportunity for a Buyer to join their Strategic Procurement Team for a 12month FTC.
The Buyer will be responsible for scoping tenders and contracts, preparing tender documents and reviewing, implementing contracts and managing procurement aspects of onsite hire equipment and utilities. They will work closely with Stakeholders and identify spend areas and identify opportunities to improve service or terms. The Buyer will hold regular Supplier Reviews and manage performance. They will also work with colleagues to develop processes and policies to improve the service of the procurement function. The Buyer will also support the daytoday activities including placing, expediting and acknowledging Purchase Orders.
Experience and knowledge required for the role:
You will have proven experience working in a Purchasing or Buying role
Experience of end to end tendering
Experience in managing suppliers and reviewing supplier performance
Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers
Passion for identifying and implementing improvements to procurement systems and procedures
Understands the importance of delivering a firstclass procurement service
Team player who will support colleagues
Hardworking, resilient and can deal with change
Positive and proactive attitude
Experience of working with utilities and plant hire advantageous
