Human Resources Officer


Salary:
£40,927


Location:
The primary place of work is the National Office in Callaghan Square, Cardiff.

However, this role will involve periodic travel in Wales (particularly to the St Padarn's Institute in Llandaff, Cardiff) and some overnight stays.

With the agreement of your line manager, you may be able to work from home for a proportion of your working week.

Job Purpose


The HR Officer will be primarily focused on providing best practice support and guidance to employees of the Representative Body of the Church in Wales.

They will assist the wider HR team with recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes. They will support line managers and employees with HR advice. At times, they will provide advice to senior clergy.

They will support and coordinate operational delivery of the work review process, identifying training and development needs and sourcing appropriate providers.


They will establish a Learning and Development function which will include the creation and delivery of in-house training primarily for employees of the Representative Body.

They will develop relationships with external training providers.

They will support the HR Manager with HR compliance and lead on policy development. They will ensure that policies are regularly reviewed to conform with best practice and changes in legislation.

They will play an active role in team life, constantly reviewing and developing team workstreams into new HR service areas, such as wellbeing and reward and recognition


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:


  • Holds a full driving licence with access to a vehicle for regular travel across Wales.
  • CIPD level 5 qualified/studying and a registered member of the CIPD.
  • A willingness to work towards an AET qualification will be supported by the Representative Body.
  • At least two years' experience of creating and delivering training sessions.
  • A minimum of two years generalist HR experience to include the management of case work and the provision of HR advice to employees and managers.
  • Has or is willing to develop an understanding of the faithbased sector.
