Didsbury Good Neighbours is a charity whose aim is to support older people in the local community through a volunteer befriending service and programme of social activities.

We are based in Didsbury Neighbourhood Centre, Didsbury Park next to our community café.

Together they are home to our information centre, a arrange of daily activities including coffee mornings, lunch club, IT drop-ins and regular socials.


Wellbeing Programme Facilitator
Part-time Wellbeing Practitioner wanted for friendly local charity providing practical help and social support to older people in Didsbury.


Job Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Wellbeing Practitioner with IAPT or equivalent qualification and experience to take responsibility for the development and delivery of our Wellbeing Workshops incorporating the 5 ways to Wellbeing.


Main duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver our Wellbeing Workshops addressing the varying needs of our members through tailored monthly sessions.
  • Sessions will be planned and advertised to the members and the local older community.
  • All course planning/materials to be shared with DGN prior to sessions.
  • Sessions to cover monthly set topics agreed by facilitator and manager that will be repeated later in the year as well as a monthly generic sessions.
  • A clear overview of topics offered will be advertised in advance to allow potential members to make appropriate choices or be able to seek support and advice about the sessions.
  • With support from the manager and volunteers, undertake Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scales (WEMWBS) with participants throughout the year.
  • As a result of engaging with the workshops, members progress will be monitored through WEMWEBS.
  • Facilitator, volunteers and staff assigned to the activity will work together to ensure this process is being delivered and results recorded and monitored.
  • The Facilitator (supported by the Volunteer) will be responsible for keeping attendance records up to date.
  • A digital register will need to be kept for each session.
  • Members not in attendance are to be contacted by Facilitator/Volunteer.
  • The Facilitator will be required to meet with the manager monthly.
  • A short monthly meeting will take place to share any relevant issues that may have arisen.
  • The Facilitator will work within the policies of Didsbury Good Neighbours with their main focuses being to promote wellbeing, empowerment and social inclusion.
  • The Facilitator will be required to provide a timely response to risk and safeguarding issues in line with the charity's policies.
  • The Facilitator will be required to support Didsbury Good Neighbours in matters furthering the Wellbeing Programme.
The post is based in Didsbury Neighbourhood Centre, Didsbury Park, Gillbrook Road M20 6WH

Part-time - 6 hours per month, flexible by agreement with Trustees.

The salary is £25.00 per hour.
