Reed Finance are pleased to be working with a leading, innovative employer based in Kendal to recruit a Cost Accountant/Project Accountant for the newly formed commercial team.

The role will be pivotal in providing detailed, accurate financial data across the business, manipulating large data sets and providing supporting analysis.

We are looking for a 'data geek' or someone that can get into the detail, using Excel and other tools to produce useful reports for management and group requirements

Day to day duties

Managing data setup to ensure accurate reporting and system integrity
Responsible for ensuring all material, labour and expense costs are accurately reflected in costing system
Tracking progress of project activities to enable appropriate project financial accounting for revenue recognition, cost recognition and billing
Preparing monthly financial information and analysis for projects to explain actual financial performance against budget
Investigate variances and report on variances

Skills Required for Success

Experience within cost/project accounting roles
Degree educated or Accounting qualification/Part qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/Other)
Advanced Excel Skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, SUMIFs)
Excellent analytical skills
Resilience & excellent communication
