The Opportunity
Hinkley Point B power station are seeking to employ a new team member into their Technical & Safety Support Department and are looking for an experienced SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality) to support the Station through the remainder of its defueling activities and preparations for decommissioning.
Over the last 46 years, Hinkley Point B has generated 311 TWh of low carbon and is now entering a new phase in its life
- defueling and decommissioning. During this stage the station will see transformative change and are keen to recruit talented individuals looking for their next challenge into their existing core of expertise.

We can offer a competitive salary with a range of £40,069 and £84892; with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement.

To support the site in the operation of company systems (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and Environmental Permits) covering the effective management of quality, health, safety and environment by completing the following:
- Complying with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Providing proactive support and guidance to the Company on compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.
- Responding to requests for advice from colleagues and external agencies.
- Undertaking risk assessments relating to SHEQ as required.
- Proactively work across site teams to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified.
- Undertaking monitoring and auditing of the company's sites.
- Ensuring effective close out of corrective actions raised, open incident reports, and significant site issues.
- Investigating incidents where required and producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
- Keeping up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry.
Who you are
You will need to be a self-motivated and experienced safety professional with excellent communication skills able to engage a wide range of people across the site.
You will be required to carry out a mix of site-based work as well as office duties reviewing and updating documentation.
As a minimum you will hold a HNC qualification for this role (or equivalent L4NVQ qualification). NEBOSH certificate would also be beneficial in this role.
