I am exclusively working on behalf of a successful SME business in the Wentloog area of Cardiff.

My client is seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join their small team and assist in the smooth running of the accounts function.

Reporting into the FC, the main duties of the role will include Weekly reconciliation of all bank accounts

  • Drawdown and purchase of currency from Foreign Exchange
  • Processing authorised multicurrency bank payments
  • Security checking new bank payee details
  • Recording payments on Microsoft Dynamics, updating Excel records and relaying remittance details
  • Processing invoices to the nonstock purchase ledger and reconciling to supplier statements each month
  • Preparation of Monthly reports and reconciliations for the banks
  • Various other ad hoc reports requested by external parties throughout the year
  • Assisting with month end reporting process
  • Providing cover and support where needed to the credit controller/finance assistant
  • Ensuring expense claims are authorised and completed correctly prior to payment
  • Have experience of accounting for transactions in foreign currencies desirable
  • Have experience of working in a commercial environment ideally an import/export business
  • Possess a high level of accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail is essential
  • Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel to a good standard
  • Have the ability to prepare accurate bank reconciliations is essential
  • Have the ability to present and communicate financial information clearly to customers and suppliers
and other external parties where required

  • Have working knowledge of Dynamics Nav or Business Central preferred but not essential as training provided more important is the ability to adapt quickly to new accounting systems
  • Possess good organisational skills
  • Have a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • Be a team player and effective communicator both verbal and written skills
  • Be educated to at least A level standard or equivalent
  • Be AAT part or full qualification or similar desirable but not essential
The hours of work will be 9.00 am pm Monday to Friday and pm on Fridays

The role will be based in the office but WFH will be offered for 1 day per week after successful passing of the probation period
