NHS Property Services have a fantastic opportunity for a People Advisor (Employee Relations) in the Stockport area.

This role will involve working in our Stockport office two days a week, with the rest of the time working from home.

The role attracts a starting salary of up to £37,000 per annum + 27 days holiday.


As a People Advisor you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to line managers and colleagues to ensure that people processes are implemented and communicated consistently.

This is a varied role including acting as the first point of contact for all colleague relations matters, working closely with our People Business Partners.

In addition, you will handle a range of queries, issues and complaints escalating as required to either the People Services Team Leader or others inside of or outside of People Operations.


With support and guidance from the People Services Team Leader, you will be expected to help with the co-ordination, support and tracking of more complex people related queries and administrative processes.

The role will provide efficient and effective support to the wider People function, managers, and colleagues across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting managers and colleagues with colleague relations matters.
  • Coaching and influencing managers to help develop their capability and judgement when making colleague relations decisions.
  • Providing advice, guidance and supporting documents in line with NHSPS policies and procedures.
  • Manage your own caseload within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • To be the first point of contact for manager and colleague people related queries and provide the relevant advice or redirect queries to other internal departments.
  • Manage and support the full employee lifecycle including new starters, promotions, transfers, secondments, leavers, maternity etc.
  • Supporting managers with production of letters, e.g., absence management, capability, disciplinary, grievance etc throughout the business adhering to the high standards of quality and attention to detail
  • Deal with reference requests and follow up on references required by the business in relation new starters.
  • Liaise with colleagues in a professional, approachable and results orientated manner.
  • To assist with general people related issues as required.
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Maintenance and auditing of Colleague Personal Files

This role will require you to demonstrate the following Experience, Capabilities and Knowledge

  • People Administration experience
  • Employee Relations case management
  • Has been in a Shared Services environment previously
