Technical Apprentice


Our exciting and innovative Apprenticeship Programmes are designed to attract and develop a diverse range of talented individuals who will contribute to the continued growth and success of our business.

This role forms part of the Technical team. The technical teams at Bellway are involved before the land is purchased. They create detailed plans to ensure all building materials are bought and in place at the right time.

Level 4 Construction Design and Build Technician

  • Course Duration: up to 18 months, plus end point assessment (EPA)

Tell me all about the role

  • To assist in all technical aspects of multiple projects, from planning consent to design, procurement, construction and sales.
  • Assist with tendering and appointing design consultants.
  • Procurement of utilities, programming, fees budget management, discharge of planning/building regulation conditions, procurement of warranties, checking of conveyance plans and easements.
  • Working with regulatory bodies such as Planning, Building Control, and the Fire Brigade.
  • Working closely with the commercial department to ensure all relevant orders are in place and then with the site and sales teams to support them through construction and sales.

What can you bring to us?

  • Obtained or expected 5 GCSE's at Grade 4 or above
  • Motivated and keen to learn new skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as using your own initiative

What is an apprenticeship?


An apprenticeship is a paid job which offers hands-on work experience alongside off-the-job training to anyone over the age of 16.

As an apprentice you are an employee with a contract of employment, holiday leave and all the benefits of being a full time member of staff.

By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career along with practical experience and a nationally recognised qualification.


What does off-the-job training look like at Bellway?
Our apprentice opportunities are registered with a college or training provider to deliver the apprenticeship framework or standard.

There is a range of delivery methods such as, attending college one day each week, an assessor delivering sessions in the workplace, or distance learning.


Apprentices will also have the opportunity to attend regular skills workshops to develop transferable skills, business knowledge, and build a network of peer support to share best practices.

Our final stage consists of the following depending on the Level of Apprenticeship:


  • Level
  • 3 Apprenticeships: A final stage interview held with the local hiring manager, this will be face to face in either the Divisional Office or a Site nearby.
