About the role

Balfour Beatty have a new and exciting opportunity for a Technical Training Coordinator to join our Enabling Functions Business Unit.

This is a hybrid role, which will include a minimum of 3 days working from our office in Redhill, and some home working.


Role Purpose

  • Follow the end to end booking process for all technical training bookings including raising purchase orders and acknowledging receipt of training and assessments
  • Systemisation into Oracle R12 to ensure all course information including financial information and delegate competencies are updated to allow accurate reporting across the whole of BB
  • Management of all technical and H&S competencies, including Sentinel and mandatory Network Rail and London Underground requirements
  • Produce and distribute accurate compliance reports as required and support in annual RISQS audit
  • Scanning and distribution of all cards and certification to projects as required and general administration duties
  • Support in maintaining sponsorship of relevant employees on the Sentinel database
  • Update Sentinel system and other awarding bodies where required

What you'll be doing
Day to day, your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • To perform accurate and prompt administration, general clerical tasks in professional and efficient manner.
  • Maintenance of Oracle R12 for Technical training standardisation
  • To support all training, assessment and certification requirements within the Rail Training team
  • Understand the importance of corporate governance and ensure consistent measures and standards are applied

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Good administration skill set (experience essential)
  • A good telephone manner
  • Good IT Skills, particularly with Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent planning/organisational skills
  • Strong numeric skills
  • Experience working in pressurised environment
  • Committed, flexible approach to varying duties

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Previous experience in a Rail background
  • Knowledge of technical training within a construction environment
  • Previous Oracle or similar LMS experience
