Group Finance ManagerLocation - Blackpool
Salary - £36,000 DOE
Simpson Judge are working with rapidly expanding group of businesses within the entertainment sector, with offices based in Blackpool.
Responsibilities include:
Management
- Oversee the production and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Manage outsourced functions
- Oversee the operations of the finance team
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary companies including their control accounts and tracking codes around cost/sales centres to analyse departmental performance
- Assist with special projects including capital investment analysis, funding, and investment proposals etc
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Coordinate and conduct monthly stocktakes with Accounts Assistant
- Work with the COO and CEO to produce and monitor business, and departmental KPIs (Leading and Lagging KPIs)
- Participate in weekly 121 meetings with the executive management team to analyse performance and the week/month lookahead.
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that supplier pricing is competitive and meets our financial budget without compromising our standards of operation
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Support the business with cash control and cash flow forecasting
- Weekly/Monthly forecasting of revenue and expenses
- Preparation of weekly bank reconciliations
- Oversee payroll including supervising payroll to move to an external supplier
- Prepare VAT returns for all companies
- Involvement with system enhancements projects
- Preparation of weekly management information briefs/reports to operational departments
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Book monthly journals to include prepayments, accruals and accrued income.
- Presentation of monthly accounts Board of Directors and further analysis as specified by the NED Chair.
- Responsible for month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Part qualified or finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines and motivated to achieve targets
- Team player with flexible approach
- Retail/hospitality experience desirable
- Experience with Xero desirable
- Advanced Excel preferred
