Working 4 days a week.

The post holder will be a team member involved in the provision of patient centred service.


To maintain a patient focused service across clinical and non-clinical areas ensuring high standards of cleaning and other related tasks within the designated areas are maintained whilst ensuring environments meet the requirements of the National specification for cleanliness in NHS.


Work in conjunction with mental health teams, to maintain a safe and clean environment and provide a comfortable atmosphere for the patients.

To work as part of the Facilities team to provide a comprehensive cleaning service across the trust.

  • To complete daily cleaning schedules in agreed time scale ensuring hygiene standards are met along with National cleaning standards.
  • Colour coding is used at all times
  • Ensure cleaning trolleys are fully stocked with sufficient cleaning materials and in clinical environments are locked and secure ensuring chemicals are not available to patients
  • Ensure COSHH risk assessments and procedures are followed at all times
  • Cleaning is carried out in accordance with Trust methods/procedures.
  • To complete departmental performance monitoring weekly, to achieve and maintain the Trust standard.
  • Removal of rubbish to designated collection points following Trust procedures
  • Replenish disposable items, eg paper towels, soap.
  • Record fridge temperatures, carry out water flushing for legionella and record information where required.
  • Request cleaning stores for your area from line Manager
  • Follow Trust infection control policy at all times
  • If an infection breakout occurs, carry out deep cleans and move over to disposable materials
  • Provide cleaning cover for all areas of KMPT when required
  • Ensure all equipment used is fit for purpose and report any damage or out of date PAT tested equipment to Manager
  • To wear the uniform provided, and ensure that it is kept clean and presentable at all times.


The post holder will need to take due account, in the way they achieve the key result areas of Trust policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that a "Duty of Candour" is maintained with services users/carers at all time.
  • Ensure services are able to be delivered safely and in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act, including monitoring the quality and safety at each site of responsibility, identifying breaches, escalating them and acting on them as soon as possible.
  • Be responsible for ensuring a regular process of review is in place to detect incidents that indicate adverse quality of care, and triangulate.
  • Responsible for reordering stocks of office supplies.
  • Ensure that COSHH policy and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure work in accordance with Health and Safety practices and policies
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is clean after use and ensures the cleanliness cleaning cupboards
  • Ensures any defects to equipment is reported
