Purpose of role

The DBS Creative Services team provides in-house agency-style creative support for hundreds of projects and pieces each year.

The department's mission is to produce distinctive work that visually and linguistically communicate the brand on a broad range of products and services.


The DBS Creative Services team works on a variety of projects from high-level, long-term conceptual work to quick-turn digital and print projects.

This team consists of a tightly knit group of individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to challenge existing designs in pursuit of client-centric designs with the user always in mind.

Deeply rooted in brand development and build out of design systems.


As Regional Creative lead you will oversee and design for both print, digital and online communication channels, following our client's briefs and brand guidelines.

You will have a passion for accuracy, detail and creativity and a portfolio to capture the client's attention and imagination.

You must have proven skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, After Effects and an understanding of online design.

A desire to prove yourself in a demanding environment, meticulous attention to detail is essential as are excellent communication and organisational skills.

To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles and layout techniques. You should also have experience executing marketing projects from conception to production.


This role will also include the day-to-day management of a regional creative team, oversight of creative output and mentoring of junior team members.

Working with the Senior Regional Creative Lead you will engage with new internal clients, promote, market and grow the service.


Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a Regional point of contact for key client stakeholders including governance meetings and escalation management.
  • Design thoughtful, highly accurate brandcompliant and visually compelling crosschannel designs for leadership articles, marketing campaigns, events and initiatives from brief to exacting industry standards for print and digital formats.
  • Stay current with industry trends and design innovation; proactively conduct market research, and regularly suggest new ideas.
  • Enhance all designs to meet the firmwide WCAG 2.0 (ADA) accessibility standards.
  • Build mood boards and creative briefs to help guide marketers, the business and creative agencies in telling the best visual stories to support messaging. Provide feedback and design direction throughout out all stages of execution.
  • As a steward of the brand, liaise with the Core brand and creative teams across the bank to maintain a consistent look and feel.
  • Provide brand guidance internally to teams ranging from business subgroups to Business Resource / Networking groups.
  • Take a "see something, say something" approach to all materials, imagery, templates, etc. that come through offbrand from the business and Corporate functions to ensure future communications meet the established standards.
  • Effectively manage workloads within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • To advise the client on the best solutions to their communication needs.
  • Answering queries from clients and either handling these or (where appropriate) escalating to more senior members of team.
  • Work proactively under own initiative.
  • Being aware of budgets and deadlines for jobs, and escalating proactively and appropriately if there is a danger of going over estimate.
  • Ensuring all quality control policies are adhered to, while constantly looking to improve and implement these.
  • Advising others on the most costeffective and suitable production processes, as well as constantly sourcing new external suppliers and monitoring their services and costs.

Key Competencies:

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma. Animation skills a plus
  • Working knowledge of Power Point and Dreamweaver would be an advantage.
  • Good eye for detail and exceptional level of accuracy.
  • You must be confident with clients, and have a consistent record of taking, interpreting and delivering design.
