Description

Enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate individuals required to work at a SEN school in Cranborne who cater for students between the ages of 11-16 with autistic spectrum conditions including Asperger's syndrome, social and emotional difficulties, anxietydisorders and mental health needs.


This special needs school provides person-centred Key Stage 3 and 4 study programmes leading to employment or further education and independent living.


Students are supported to make positive life decisions, work towards gaining qualifications and employability skills for their chosen careers and learn independent preparation for life skills.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to our students.

You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people's lives and in supporting and developing their learning.


Key attributes for this role are:

  • Experience of supporting children or adults with SEN needs and/or disabilities SEND especially in SEMH.
  • High expectations of children's progress, attainment, and behaviour.
  • The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems.
  • Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
  • Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships.
  • Has emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
