Purpose of the Role


This exciting remote based Head of Analytics opportunity has arisen to join our Digital team to provide leadership on analytics and insight in order that the digital team can make the right decisions and deliver group growth targets.


This role will be to build and embed a culture of analytical insight in order to solve business and customer problems.

You will need to deliver best in class digital analytics implementation and then proactively report and share insights with a wider groupof stakeholders to help optimise our Digital marketing and experience.


What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:


  • Provide insight and analytical vision, direction and strategy to aid the digital team and stakeholders to make decisions and meet group growth targets.
  • Lead the development of the correct tracking and analytics suite for Marketing & Digital experience.
  • Produce palatable MI with actionable insights and ensure exception reporting is in place to manage performance SLAs.
  • Management of multiple Google Analytics accounts and profiles spanning a number of customerfacing websites across the wider Ardonagh Group. We are currently looking into adopting GA360 so knowledge of premium analytics platforms will be required.
  • Ownership of Google Tag Manager and the tracking tags and pixels within the container which sit across our front end and back end web properties.
  • Take charge of Trading Insights to support Head of Trading: Reporting and providing insight into our end to end Digital performance. This will involve working with stakeholders around the business to understand income & sales reporting against digital marketingchannels.
  • Implementation of new tags across our web properties when required
  • Integration of affiliate marketing tracking into our multiple back end environments and providing support to our local teams to help with sale validations.
  • Implementation of call tracking and subsequent reporting.
  • Manage migration to GA
  • Working with our back end and backoffice quote and buy systems to ascertain funnel performance, drop off, and ultimately report on Income generated by digital channels.

Who we are looking for


This is an opportunity for an experienced and approachable Web Analytics and Digital Marketing Leader, or aspiring leader, ideally from a financial services environment, who is willing to work as part of a team and manage stakeholders at all levels.


We arelooking for someone has/is:

  • Significant experience in web analytics and digital marketing roles with strong knowledge of digital marketing principles.
  • The ability to work in multiwebsite and multibrand environment.
  • Experience as a superuser of the Google marketing suite and know all the ins and outs of Google analytics, advanced Excel functional skills, powerful data tools such as QlikSense and basic SQL knowledge.
  • Well versed with cross domain tracking.
  • Experience across Google analytics products as we are a Google house. It would be preferable if you had knowledge of other platforms such as Adobe to help inform purchasing decisions.
  • Experience integrating analytics platforms such as UBX through the IBM platform.
  • Experience with session tools such as Hotjar and Sessioncam with the ability to report findings from these to a wide audience.


Whilst ideally we are seeking someone who is already a Head of Analytics, we are also happy to consider a Senior Analytics Manager who is looking for their next career step into a Head of role.
