The College


The
College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is the largest School in UWL and a major provider of pre-registration and post-qualifying nursing, midwifery, paramedic, ODP, public health and apprenticeship education in London and Berkshire (undergraduate to doctoral).


We are ranked as number one in England for student experience on our nursing courses in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, while our ever-popular mental health nursing courses are top in the UK for satisfaction with assessment and second in the UK for satisfaction with the course in the Guardian's University Guide 2023.


The Role


The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is seeking a motivated individual, with significant administrative experience in a busy customer facing environment, who holds excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to undertake the role of
Senior College Administrator.


The role will include:

  • Comprehensive and confidential administrative support to the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean of the College and members of the College Executive.
  • Complex diary management for Pro-Vice Chancellor Dean of the College, managing internal and external correspondence and meetings, filtering of phone calls and arranging travel arrangements.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare, fielding telephone enquiries and forwarding to the appropriate person.
  • Preparing agendas and taking minutes.
  • Creating Microsoft Word and PowerPoint documents.
  • Supporting arrangements for internal and external events.
  • HR related administrative support.
  • Raising purchase orders and receipting invoices.
  • Leading a team of two administrators ensuring all College related administration work is effectively addressed (each administrator has their own remit).
  • Working in an extremely fast paced environment, which presents competing priorities on a daily basis.
The post will largely be based at the UWL West London Paragon campus. Travel to UWL's other campuses (Ealing and Reading, Berkshire) may be required occasionally.


This is a full time role comprising of 35 hours per week on Campus (it is not possible to work from home part or all of the week).

Working hours are Monday-Friday 09.00am -17.00pm. Please note - this is
not a student facing administrative role.


The Person
You will have a degree (or equivalent) and significant administrative experience in a busy fast moving, customer facing environment.

You will also hold excellent communication skills (verbal and written), IT skills and have some experience of leading a small team/willing to develop these skills.


If you are enthusiastic, able to work independently, have excellent interpersonal skills and would like to be part of a team of academic and administrative staff within the higher education sector, this is the role for you.


Additional Information


The recruitment process will comprise a 30 minute unseen computer based test (focusing on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint), followed by an interview.

It is not possible to undertake this interview and test via MS Teams.
