As part of the EA finance team you will be responsible for supporting senior management and driving performance in the business through the production and interpretation of high-quality management accounts.


Job Purpose:


  • Working in the management accounting team to maintain the ledgers, the month end routines and balance sheet reconciliations for Countrywide's largest company.

Key Duties:


  • Preparation/review of monthend journals e.g. accruals/prepayments, allocations etc across a variety of income and cost lines across the estate agency business
  • Ensure costs incurred centrally are allocated out to branches in accordance to agreed methodology and highlighting issues as required
  • Posting income from various sources for Countrywide lettings, working with other members of finance to investigate reconciling differences to cash
  • Review bank reconciliations throughout the month ensuring all queries are resolved for month end.
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations including follow up of open items to ensure correctly dealt with on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with the finance teams to investigate P&L and balance sheet queries and recommend correcting actions where required
  • Support the Estate Agency Finance manager in ensuring the robustness and integrity of the business unit accounts

Required qualifications, experience and skills:


  • Studying a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience. Study support will be provided for those wishing to continue accounting studies
  • Previous experience with monthend finance responsibilities and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, and work under own initiative.
  • Intermediate Excel skills preferable (Presentation, V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis, Sumif(s) etc.)
  • Numerical and analytical skills, including experience of interpreting financial data and determining trends.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel intermediate/advanced including modelling skills.
