We are looking for an Underwriting Graduate to join our Allianz Commercial Graduate Program, based in London.

Your Team:

The Chief Underwriting Office team works globally supporting and driving business strategy in collaboration with local teams.

Collectively they manage 10 different insurance products, referred to as lines of business, ensuring our risk and exposure levels are maintained at a profitable level.

This means working with local teams, external partners in the market, and most importantly our clients.

Each product team is responsible for ensuring we deliver strong results, whilst also understanding the context of the bigger picture, e.g.

ESG commitments, industry change and the latest innovation internally and externally.

As a graduate, you'll closely collaborate with key stakeholders, including our Chief Underwriting Officer, gaining exposure to strategy-setting, authority adherence, and cultivating the global underwriting culture.

You'll have the opportunity to work directly with teams from around the world, maintaining core operating principles whilst discovering innovative solutions to emerging risks and underdeveloped market opportunities.

Day-to-day activities will range from carrying out market and portfolio analysis, through to supporting innovation efforts and global engagement activities.

You will gain a detailed understanding of underwriting and insurance, gaining insights into the role of an Underwriter as well as a view on how portfolios are managed and steered through the cycle.

This is a unique chance to gain an insight into how one of the world's biggest insurance companies manages its business.

What You'll Bring to the Role

Completion of a bachelor's university degree by October 202
Adaptability and Flexibility
Able to adapt and work effectively in different situations and remain calm under pressure.
Communication
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Teamwork
Have a proactive and positive attitude to teamwork, able to assist others and also take on your responsibilities.
Learning Mindset/ Ambition
A curious and creative mindset, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm to own and drive your personal development.
Analytical Thinking
Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study, or examine data in detail, draw appropriate conclusions, and present solutions to others.
Good computer skills, including MS/Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Fluent English language skills.

Further Information:

Duration: This is a permanent opportunity. After extensive training during the first 12 months of our Graduate Programme, you will continue to work within the team and benefit from the lifelong learning opportunities that Allianz Commercial offers.
Working Hours: Fulltime.
Start Date: September 2024.
Recruitment Timeline: Assessments will take place throughout Spring 2024.
