A fantastic opportunity to be the first senior finance hire at a recently established family office, with a broad remit covering all aspects of reporting and analysis for this highly entrepreneurial set up.


This role is aimed at someone from either a family office / private client background or someone who's worked in a small funds environment with the need for a hands-on skillset alongside a confident but discreet personality.


We'd also welcome people from smaller accounting firms who've worked with HNWIs as part of their client base.

  • Full financial reporting and cash management for the Principals and their entities
  • Overseeing the bookkeeper's transaction processing and ensuring full accuracy
  • Ensure all adjustments have been made appropriately and Trial Balances are accurate
  • Supervise the payment of invoices and review bank payment submissions before sending to the Principals for approval
  • Oversight of the processing of payments, invoices, income, and receipts and ensure the accuracy of data entered into the accounting systems
  • Prepare financial statements including income and expenditure positions, balance sheets, cashflows and budgets in various currencies
  • Produce reports for the Principals for planning purposes
  • Review reconciliations of bank accounts in various currencies, accounting ledgers, PAYE, and VAT control, etc.
  • Review credit card expenditures and the reconciliation of expenses
  • Review the work completed for base costs for fixed assets and all capital expenditures as appropriate
  • Review the tracking of expenditures on various projects for cashflow planning and budgetary control
  • Consult with existing accountants to manage the smooth transition of the accounting systems in house
  • Oversight of payrolls and PAYE requirements
  • Oversight of quarterly VAT return submissions
  • Oversight of the preparation of data for the completion of tax returns in the UK and other overseas filing requirements for third party service providers
  • Support the implementation of a paperless office as far as possible, and support the development of an electronic document management system for record keeping
  • Maintain filing timetables in accordance with deadlines
  • Assist in the preparation of Companies House and other filings with the team
  • Assisting with KYC and compliance matters such as beneficial ownership filings

Your background:


The focus is on hiring a first-rate individual who ideally has experience of working at a family office or accountancy firm and/or in a smaller fund who can identify with the culture of the Principals and have experience of multitasking and prioritising,whilst at the same time being meticulous, initiative-taking and diligent.


Formal accounting or tax qualifications are essential and it's likely you've be at least 5 years PQE or equivalent.
The FC should be an initiative-taker, enjoy solving problems and be a logical and critical thinker.

It is important this person can foster a respectful and professional working environment with all team members and third parties.

Initiative, energy, andresourcefulness are characteristics the FC is expected to demonstrate.


The role will enable progression and the opportunity to be involved in tax planning, investments, charitable foundations and offer financial advice and guidance to support the entrepreneurial initiatives of the Principals and their various operating businesses.
