Proactive Personnel is currently working in partnership with an independent same-day courier based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire who has been providing on-demand transport solutions for over 20 years who are now looking for an experienced transport dispatcher to work as part of a team in our busy operations office.

The role is varied but the primary position is to allocate jobs to drivers, both in-house & outsourced.

In this role your duties will include but not limited to;

Working alongside the transport manager / Planner
The role will develop and become more involved as experience & operational knowledge grows.

The right person will have;

Experience in transport dispatch
Good I.T input skills
Good knowledge of the UK and road networks
Be able to communicate and give clear instructions to drivers
Monitor delivery times ensuring delivery schedules are met
Able to adapt to changing transport scenarios and offer solutions to problems that may arise
Be able to work under pressure and communicate any issues to the team.
Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues
Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
