In 2015, Deutsche Windtechnik entered the UK market and now has over 640 WTGs/700MW under Service & Maintenance contracts, we aim to expand further into the onshore market.

You will work closely with all departments in the UK and other group companies to ensure we are providing a level of service expected from a market leader.

Although most of your time will be spent working in the UK you may be expected to spend some periods working with colleagues in Germany and other DWT (Deutsche Windtechnik) group countries.

Role
This is a role within the Supply Chain team at Deutsche WindTechnik UK

Controlling the flow of parts into the business by working closely with suppliers:


  • Ensuring the efficient transportation of parts from suppliers to site
You will use your skills in a challenging environment within our team. We require someone with enthusiasm, business experience and a willingness to adapt & facilitate change.

  • Take ownership for all aspects of supply for the UK business, including but not exclusively, the operational and performance management of suppliers
  • Champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives and activities, working alongside other functions to implement sourcing strategy and support on cost saving opportunities
  • Performance and vendor management including regular feedback to stakeholders
  • Support vendor selection and qualification
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient purchase to pay process, to include placing orders, expediting deliveries and completing invoice queries for all Supplier orders
  • Creation and maintenance of the preferred supplier list in collaboration with the Procurement team
  • Implementation of purchasing strategy at an operational level in UK
  • Primary contact for Operations, including regular reviews and feedback sessions
  • Feedback and close cooperation with the Procurement team
  • Major components support, to include product specification support, liaison with suppliers to ensure the purchasing guidelines are met and contract review to ensure meets UK requirements
  • Ensuring commoditised contracts meet the requirements of the UK
  • Management and improvement of supplier data in ProAlpha in the UK
  • Responsible for obtaining quotations from suppliers where framework agreements are not in place
  • To work closely with the Operations team ensuring delivery on time in full for planned works
  • Strong and clear engagement with key stakeholders
  • Ensure early and continuous integration of the Supply Chain function into projects
  • Ensuring that the materials/parts are delivered on time, to budget, and to specification
  • Ensure that timely communication of all internal reports is met
  • Fully participate in all relevant training & process activities

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing role
  • A working knowledge of ERP
  • Good interpersonal and persuasion skills
  • Good numerate and Microsoft IT skills
  • Commercially savvy
  • Proactive
  • Delivery focused
  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team & under time pressure
  • Good communication skills written & oral (essential)
