Motor Claims Handler - Hybrid Role - Southampton

Full time position - 37 hours per week (Flexible work patterns available)

Working hours:37 hours per week, flexible shifts Mon-Fri between 07:00 - 18:00 (No weekend work)

The Motor Claims Handler will provide administrative and operational support associated with insurance claims relating to Fleet Incidents throughout Saint-Gobain in the UK.

Duties:

Assist in the processing of First Notification of Losses (FNOL) within set timescales
Achieve statutory compliance relevant to your specific area of responsibility
Negotiating liability and costs settlements with internal and external customers
Ensure accident report forms are received from drivers / branches and accurately completed, within set timescales. Liaising with branch / transport managers and drivers.
Confirm employees hold correct authority to operate specific vehicles / machinery. Reporting any infringements to the compliance team / senior management.
Accurately maintain the FleetWave Database and all other relevant electronic records
Manage enquiries from user departments and seek adequate resolutions where problems exist
Follow functional procedures accurately and identify improvement opportunities

Essential Requirements:

Good telephone and customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to work on own initiative, as well as being a team player
Ability to negotiate and agree case settlements
Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Flexible with ability to deal with high volumes of throughput
Able to work well in team environment

PC literate

MS Office
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to handle confidential information

Desirable Requirements:

Some experience of motor claim handling or related claims handling
Basic working knowledge of insurance practices and processes
Basic working knowledge of road traffic laws
